They don t rust so the coating won t flake off like it can on mild steel headers. The more expensive grades of ss such as 304 will hold up much better but i don t know if there are any header manufactures that use 304 ss for their headers.

I dont mind spending extra coin on something that will look good and last for years to come. The ceramic actually blocks alot of the heat if they are coated inside and out. Stainless will radiate more heat into the engine compartment than ceramic coated headers will. I have been reading for days about headers.
